Distribution of Educational Supplies to Children and Cloths to Underprivileged Women at a Tribal Community at Mahipal Village of Burdwan
Durgapur Uttaran Educational and Training Institute organized a social service program at the tribal locality of Mahipal village near Bardhaman. The event was organised in September 2025 before the Durga Puja.
As part of the initiative, educational materials were distributed among the tribal children, and clothes were distributed among the women.
Representing Uttaran at the event were President Mrs. Jayashree Mukherjee, Secretary Mr. Debdas Chowdhury, and Treasurer Mr. Indrapratim Bhattacharya, along with several members and volunteers of the organization.
The program began with a traditional musical performance by the Adivasi community to welcome the guests. This was followed by a felicitation ceremony organized by the villagers to honor the representatives of Uttaran.
The main segment of the event included the distribution of clothes to the women, followed by educational kits to the children. The Adivasi residents also arranged a vibrant cultural program, which added a festive spirit to the day’s proceedings.
On behalf of Uttaran, heartfelt thanks were extended to the villagers for their participation and warm hospitality. It was also announced that Uttaran intends to continue similar social welfare activities in the future—especially for the education of underprivileged children and the welfare of the needy in nearby areas.
Despite heavy rain, the enthusiasm and participation of the villagers made the day truly memorable at Mahipal.
